Following the Government's proposals for a "Plastic Tax", there has been a huge response from major UK business and high profile supermarkets, pledging to reduce their use of plastics in the foreseeable future. We expect this to show a continued increase in the use of recyclable materials, particularly in packaging, and therefore a corresponding increase in the demand for cards and papers produced from sustainable sources.
Meanwhile, a global shortage of paper, together with the demand for increased production, higher raw material and logistics costs and currency pressures, pushed up paper prices considerably during 2018 and the trend is likely to continue in 2019. However, recognising our on-going commitment to offer our customers value for money, we will always do our very best to keep any such cost increases to a minimum.
Despite the difficult market conditions we remain committed to our environmental and social responsibilities and vow to:
use recycled and sustainable products wherever possible
minimise our waste and reduce our carbon footprint
reduce our use of plastic
be responsible in our use of customer data in accordance with GDPR
be socially responsible within the community
As part of the wider Jump DP Group, we also hold the credentials for Two Sides - this is an initiative that busts the myths and sets out the facts about print media's attractiveness and sustainability.
